Terms of Service

The service

Veritas Canvas is a free book-cover studio provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We may update, limit or discontinue features at any time. You are responsible for the text and images you add to a cover and for making sure you have the rights to use them; your finished design is yours to use.

Acceptable use

Don't use the tool to infringe others' rights, to create unlawful or harmful content, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. Some outbound links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you; these are always labelled.

Credits and payments

The studio itself is free: unlimited 300 DPI exports, no watermark. Only AI cover-art generation uses credits. What you buy is a book pack — Book Pack, 3 Books or 10 Books — and each pack includes a set number of AI generation credits; the credit is simply the unit those generations are counted in. Credits are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and they do not expire. Each AI generation costs 1 credit; a revision is a generation too. If a generation fails because of a technical error or timeout, the credit is refunded automatically. Credits are tied to your account, cannot be transferred and have no cash value. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record for these sales and issues the invoice and any taxes; your card details never reach us. Refunds: within 14 days of purchase you can request a refund for credits you have not spent — contact@veritascanvas.com. Because credits are digital content delivered immediately, spent credits are not refundable; by purchasing you agree to immediate delivery and waive the right of withdrawal to that extent. When a refund is approved, the credits from that order are removed from your account.

Who you are buying from

The studio is operated by us. Purchases are not: credits are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record.

• Lemon Squeezy is the seller for the transaction — it charges your card, issues the invoice and handles any sales tax or VAT.
• Lemon Squeezy's name, not ours, is what appears on your card statement and on your receipt.
• By buying credits you also accept Lemon Squeezy's own terms and privacy policy.
• Your card details never reach us. Approved refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy under our Refund Policy.

Your work, and what AI produces

You keep the rights you have in the cover you design. We claim no ownership of it.

• Text, images and layout you bring or create remain yours.
• AI images are produced by a third-party model provider. What rights you hold in that output depends on that provider's licence and on the law where you publish — in several countries a purely AI-generated image may not attract copyright protection at all.
• Cover backgrounds are gradients generated by the studio itself — no third-party licence and no attribution attaches to them. Unsplash photos appear only in the optional 3D mockup scenes (marketing images, not the cover file) and stay under the Unsplash licence.
• Before you publish, checking that your cover infringes nobody's copyright or trademark, and that it meets Amazon KDP's own content and formatting rules, is your responsibility.

No warranty, and limits on what we owe you

The studio is provided as it is, and as it is available.

• We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that Amazon KDP will accept a given export. Amazon sets and changes its own requirements.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — printing costs, lost royalties, or time spent — arising from your use of the studio.
• Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to whichever is higher: the total you paid for Veritas Canvas credits in the twelve months before the claim — whether that payment reached us directly or through Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record — or EUR 50.
• None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Suspension, closure, and your credits

You can stop using Veritas Canvas at any time.

• We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
• If we close an account for a breach, unspent credits are not refunded.
• If we close or discontinue the service for any other reason, you can ask for a refund of credits you have not spent.
• Deleting your account removes your saved settings; covers stored in your own browser stay on your device until you clear them.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; continuing to use the tool after a change means you accept the new version. Questions about these terms: contact@veritascanvas.com.
